The Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro for 2018, the high-flying trail continues to be a segment in which Borgo Panigale is confident, as well as to maintain its bet on a Ducati without fear of getting dirty. Quite the opposite: ask for land.
The Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro has just been presented as a prequel to the Milan Motor Show that will be held in a couple of weeks, and does so with a bet based on the same propeller revised in depth and a series of improvements that make this maxitrail an even more enjoyable motorcycle in any environment.
Ducati Multistradas 1260 Enduro: Few changes on the outside for a completely renovated interior
Outwardly the Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro is renewed in a subtle way. The decoration is new and includes a new seat in two colors (located at 860 mm), a somewhat more robust appearance in general highlighting as always the side plates of the fairing. Apart from the 1260 graphics and a lighter aluminum crankcase, it changes little more, although they could already have taken advantage of it to remove the turn signals from the paramanos to avoid costly breakages.
The propellant of the Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro is inherited directly from the Multistrada 1260. It is the same twin-cylinder engine in UVE at 90º that gives a step forward in terms of displacement, reaching 1262 cc to offer a remarkable 158 hp maximum power and 128 NM of torque.
But not as important as the maximum figures is the way to deliver them, and that is that in Bologna they have worked piece by piece to create a less pointy, more profitable and full engine. From 3500 revolutions we will have available 85% of the engine torque with 17% more delivery at 5000 rpm, maximizing the response in the most used speed range that together with the DVT variable distribution system get an impeccable and energetic connection between the right fist and the rear wheel.
The electronic section continues to be a constant, deploying all its arsenal of driving modes (Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro), inertial measurement platform, electronic accelerator, bidirectional semi-automatic change, traction control, slope start assistant, lighting in curve, ABS with braking assistance in curve and Enduro mode … All handled through a complete 5-inch color TFT digital control panel.
The multitubular steel chassis is the same as we knew before, although with slightly different geometries. A robust frame that holds rims in 19-inch front and 17-inch rear measurements controlled by a set of suspensions signed by Sachs with increased travels up to 185 mm in both trains. The control of the regulation is completely electronic and is carried out by means of a revised Ducati Skyhook System Evolution.
In terms of comfort for the pilot, the Ducati Multistrada 1260 includes two power sockets, center stand, tool pocket under the passenger seat, height adjustable screen without tool 60 mm, heated grips and a USB socket under the seat.

Also new is the Ducati Multimedia System, a connectivity application of our smartphone that allows multiple possibilities such as adjusting the regulation of the suspension before starting the march or a total and less necessary integration to visualize calls, text messages, music … Much more useful is the cruise control and the keyless starter equipped as standard with the Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro.
The ergonomics of the model has also been modified to improve its capabilities on the road, whatever the type. The set of seat (-10 mm) and handlebar (-30 mm) have been modified to allow a more comfortable position and provide greater control, at the same time that the center of gravity has been lowered. On the other hand, the fuel tank still holds 30 liters, enough to declare a range of 450 km with which to minimize stops.
